I’m Josh Stell, a small business owner, community advocate, and someone who believes in taking action to make Minooka a better place. I’ve been actively involved in supporting local businesses, speaking out on key issues, and working to ensure our village grows responsibly. I own CTRL-ALT-FIX, an IT services company, and as an active member of both the Grundy County and Joliet Chambers of Commerce, I understand the challenges small businesses and families face. That’s why I’ve been vocal at village meetings—opposing increased semi-truck traffic, advocating for lower taxes, and pushing for better infrastructure, like fiber optic access, to support residents and businesses alike.
  • Action Over Talk – I’m not waiting to be elected to make a difference. I’ve already spoken out against increased semi-truck traffic, advocated for lower taxes, and pushed for better infrastructure like fiber optic access to support residents and businesses.
  • Smart Growth & Fiscal Responsibility – Minooka should grow in a way that benefits residents, not burdens them. I’ll work to attract businesses that generate revenue without adding strain to our roads and services while keeping spending in check to ensure Minooka remains affordable.
  • Transparency & Community Engagement – I believe that listening to our voters should be a core principal, and that open, honest communication must be paramount.
I’m passionate about supporting our small businesses and residents. As a small business owner, I believe Minooka is a great place to run a business and raise a family, and our village board should be doing everything we can to support those who choose to live and work here.

That means ensuring responsible growth that benefits our community, keeping Minooka affordable by being fiscally responsible, and making it easier for businesses to succeed. I’ll continue to advocate for policies that strengthen our local economy, improve infrastructure, and make Minooka an even better place for families and businesses alike.
I would recommend The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell, particularly for its focus on servant leadership—the idea that true leaders serve the people they represent. Leadership isn’t about titles or power; it’s about listening, taking action, and working for the good of the community.

I believe in that approach. Whether it’s through my small business, my involvement with local chambers of commerce, or my advocacy for residents, I’ve always focused on how I can help others succeed. As a Village Trustee, I’ll bring that same mindset—putting Minooka’s residents first, making responsible decisions, and ensuring our village thrives for years to come.
Honesty, openness, and a commitment to doing what’s right for the people are the most important qualities in an elected official. Voters deserve leaders who are transparent, accountable, and focused on serving the community—not themselves.

When Minooka recently opened a search for a new IT provider, I made the decision to excuse myself from participating. As an IT business owner, I could have pursued the opportunity, but I’m not running for office to make money off of taxpayers. I’m running because I care about our village and want to use my expertise to help make Minooka a better place to live and work.

Elected officials should always put the needs of the community first. That means being accessible, making decisions with integrity, and ensuring that every action taken is in the best interest of our residents. That’s the kind of leadership I’ll bring to the village board.
I believe the key to being a successful officeholder is hard work and a willingness to take action to get results. I’m someone who’s not afraid to roll up my sleeves and put in the effort needed to make meaningful changes for our community. Whether it’s advocating for lower taxes, supporting local businesses, or pushing for better infrastructure, I’m dedicated to getting things done for Minooka.

I also believe in speaking out when something isn’t right. I’ve shown that by publicly opposing projects, like the increased semi-truck traffic that would negatively affect our community. When something doesn’t align with what’s best for residents, I’m not afraid to voice my concerns and stand up for what I believe is in our community’s best interest.

These qualities—hard work, transparency, and a willingness to stand up for residents—are what will make me an effective and accountable trustee for Minooka.
The core responsibilities of a Village Trustee are to represent the residents, make informed decisions that benefit the community, and ensure Minooka’s growth is responsible and sustainable.

First and foremost, trustees must listen to the people and be their voice in local government. That means being accessible, transparent, and open to feedback. I’ve already shown my commitment to this by maintaining a public Facebook page, providing a dedicated email for residents, and actively engaging in community discussions.

Fiscal responsibility is another key duty. Trustees must manage taxpayer dollars wisely, focusing on needs over wants and ensuring that village spending benefits residents. I’ve already advocated for lower taxes and will continue to push for responsible budgeting and smart investments in our future.

Lastly, trustees must plan for long-term success by supporting policies that strengthen our local economy, improve infrastructure, and protect our quality of life. As a small business owner, I understand the importance of fostering a thriving business environment while making Minooka a great place to live for families.

I take these responsibilities seriously and will always prioritize what’s best for the people of Minooka.
Financial transparency and government accountability are critical to responsible leadership. Taxpayer dollars should be spent wisely, and residents deserve to know exactly where their money is going.

That’s why I’ve been the only new candidate to attend Minooka’s budget meetings—because you can’t talk about lowering taxes without first understanding how the money is being spent. I believe in open communication and responsible budgeting, ensuring spending is focused on real community needs while keeping Minooka affordable.

As trustee, I’ll push for greater transparency in village finances and decision-making, making it easier for residents to stay informed and engaged. Government should work for the people, not behind closed doors, and I’ll always advocate for smart financial decisions that put taxpayers first.
