Campaign themes

2016

Crawford's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Illegal Immigration: I fully support legal immigration paired with assimilation to the American culture. We must, however, protect our tax dollars and avoid wasting resources on handouts. We must repeal the DREAM Act, stop sanctuary cities and prohibit benefits for illegal immigrants.

Education: A well-educated workforce is a key factor in strengthening our economy. We need to restore vocational training in our public schools and ensure students going to college are choosing degrees in fields where jobs are waiting. Our tax dollars should be spent in the classroom teaching students real knowledge to help prepare them for our workforce rather than a specific test. As a supporter of school choice, we must enable parents to choose the best path for their children.

Family Values: As a staunch pro-life advocate, I believe that life begins at conception and will fight any legislation that does not fully protect the unborn and patients at the end of their lives. I fully believe that marriage is solely between a man and a woman and will fight to expand religious liberty protections for all Texans.

States Rights: Many have stood back and allowed the federal government to take over services and rights such as education, transportation, and health care. I will fervently fight against any federal overreach that violates the 10th Amendment.

Role of Government: Government should be limited to infrastructure, education, and border security. I will fight for limited government and demand accountability and transparency in tax dollar spending.[1]
