I'm Josh Glandon - a husband, father, pastor. I value honesty, integrity, hard work, and showing up for people. I believe that conversations and questions can lead to understanding and that true solutions exist when everyone has a voice. I'm naturally curious, digging into how systems work and seeking to find ways they can work best for everyone. I care deeply about my community and have a strong belief that investing in young people brings about a strong future - believing that acknowledging and building on their individual potentials is the first step is their success.
  • Students Come First - Everything starts with making sure our students are getting what they need to succeed. That means strong academics, a safe environment, and support for their overall well-being. If it doesn’t help kids learn and grow, we need to ask why we’re doing it.
  • Support Our Teachers - Teachers are at the heart of our schools. I want to make sure they have the resources, time, and respect they need to do their jobs well. When we invest in our educators, our students benefit the most.
  • Listen First, Lead with Integrity - I believe school board members should listen first and act responsibly. I want to be a voice that reflects the values of Orting's families. I'm here to listen, ask honest questions, represent with integrity, and earn the community's trust.
I’m passionate about mental health access and community development. I also care deeply about sound budgeting that ensures social services are accountable and truly support families in need.

Within education, I’m focused on making sure bond funds are used responsibly and transparently. I want to see expanded academic and trade or career-readiness programs so every student has a real path to success. Supporting students with IEPs or developmental differences is also important to me, as is strengthening the connection between educators and families to build trust and partnership.
This is hard to answer - I look up to many people for varied reasons. As a person of faith I do look to Jesus as an example of truth, grace, and mercy. There are coaches and leaders of young people that devote themselves to the betterment of others and strive to see the full potential of others.
I believe the most important qualities in an elected official are integrity, transparency, and a genuine willingness to listen. Officials should be accountable to the people they serve, making decisions based on what’s best for the community, not personal agendas. They need to be open and clear about their actions, so voters understand why choices are made. Above all, humility and respect are key - recognizing that leadership is about serving others and building trust.
I’m a steady, thoughtful leader who listens first and asks the right questions. I care about the details, I take responsibility seriously, and I don’t make decisions lightly. I’ve served on a church board and understand what it means to handle resources with integrity and to lead with accountability.

I’m also approachable. I value real conversations and want people to feel like they can talk to me and be heard even if we don’t always agree. I believe good leadership means showing up consistently, staying humble, and always keeping the bigger picture in mind: what’s best for our students, staff, and community.
The core responsibility of a school board member is to serve as a trustworthy steward of the community’s resources and to put students’ needs first. That means making thoughtful decisions that support quality education, safe and well-maintained facilities, and strong support for teachers. It also involves listening carefully to parents, educators, and community members to understand their concerns and priorities. Transparency, accountability, and clear communication are essential so the community can have confidence in the board’s actions. Ultimately, the job is about working collaboratively to create an environment where every student has their opportunity to succeed.
I hope to leave a legacy defined by integrity, humility, and steady service. A legacy that reflects the kind of leadership that puts people first and stands firm in principle. My aim has never been recognition, but to live in a way that encourages trust, invites unity, and creates a lasting impact across generations.

If the work I do today helps shape stronger families, more resilient communities, and a clearer path forward for the next generation, then that’s a legacy worth building. I want to contribute to something that endures; where character matters, people are heard, and those who follow are better equipped because we took our responsibilities seriously.
I recall the LA Riots and the '92 Presidential Election - I would have been about 6 at the time.
My first job was working for my parents in their printing business, followed by food service and retail.
My constituents are the families, students, educators, and community members of the Orting School District. That includes parents who want the best education and safe schools for their children, teachers and staff who work hard every day to support students, and local residents who care about the future of our community. As a school board member, I serve everyone in the district, listening to their concerns and representing their interests in decisions that affect our schools.
I want to make sure our schools offer clear, real-world paths for all students—including trades, technical careers, agriculture, and STEM fields. It’s important to have solid programs that prepare kids for the jobs that are out there, whether that’s through apprenticeships, hands-on training, or partnerships with local businesses and farms.

We need to expand career and technical education so students can build skills that lead to good jobs right after high school. At the same time, STEM education has to be a big part of that mix, giving students the tools to succeed in a technology-driven world. The goal is to make education practical and relevant, so every student knows there’s a path that fits their interests and goals.
What did the janitor say when he jumped out of the closet? Supplies!
I believe building strong relationships with parents starts with listening and being available. I want to create open lines of communication where parents feel heard and respected, whether that’s through regular town halls, community events, or simply being responsive to their questions and concerns.

I also want to strengthen partnerships between families and schools because when parents and educators work together, students benefit the most. Transparency about decisions and clear, honest communication are key. My goal is to be a board member parents can trust, someone who genuinely cares about their kids’ success and keeps them informed every step of the way.
I believe financial transparency and government accountability are absolutely critical to building trust between elected officials and the community. In my experience serving on a church board, I saw firsthand how important clear and open communication about finances is to maintaining confidence and unity. When people understand exactly how funds are being managed and spent, they feel respected and involved.

This experience reinforced for me that in public education, where community resources are invested in our children’s future, transparency isn’t just a best practice, it’s essential. People have the right to know how budgets, bonds, and expenditures impact their schools. Accountability means being willing to explain decisions, listen to feedback, and adjust when necessary. Without these principles, it’s impossible to foster the trust needed for a strong, successful school system.
