I am a long-time resident of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. I've been an activist since I was 15. I earned my undergraduate degree in government from the College of William & Mary and a Master's degree in Political Science from West Virginia University.
  • Protect and expand personal liberty in Virginia
  • Work to scale back the size and scope of government in Richmond
  • Make sure that everyone is treated equally and fairly under the law
Ballot access reform is an important issue for me. We need to make it so that all candidates have to go through the same hurdles in order to make it onto the ballot as opposed to our current system which favors Democrats and Republicans over third-party and independent candidates. I believe greater competition helps the public whether it is through expanded economic opportunities, religious freedom, or an increase of choices of candidates on our ballot.
I think the first historical event I remember was the Challenger explosion, certainly not a happy event. I was 5 years old at the time and watched the event while in kindergarten.
My first job was working as a bagger/cashier at Farm Jack Grocery in Harrisonburg, VA. If I remember correctly, I had this job for about nine months while a senior in high school.
Do You Hear The People Sing? I listened to music while collecting signatures to get on the ballot. This particular one came up from my iTunes collection which I thought was particularly appropriate.
Yes, compromise is sometimes necessary so long as one doesn't abandon his or her core principles for the sake of power or re-election.
