Since retiring from the Army in 2015, Joshua Murray has advocated for more accountability and transparency in local government. Voicing his concerns about the irregularities, planning and operations of local city government, Josh became a catalyst in the City of Lavon hiring an Administrator (City Manager), updating the city’s code of regulations and establishing a long-term Capital Improvement Plan. In the last year, Josh has attended nearly every Collin County Commissioners Court meeting and spoken during public comments. Josh is an outspoken advocate for improved living/working conditions in our county jail, increasing entry-level pay for county employees, and eliminating residential incentives for developers. Since COVID began, Josh has reiterated the importance of the court to properly plan, distribute data to the People of Collin County, and to work collaboratively with the municipalities within the county for a more effective and efficient emergency response to this pandemic. Through his service in the Army and work in residential construction, Josh has extensive experience in emergency management and operations that are the key responsibilities of the County Judge. Through his deployments overseas, as the Vice President of Operations responsible for more than 100 employees, and through involvement in local governments Josh has is prepared and qualified to serve as Collin County’s next top elected official.

As County Judge I will ensure all communication amongst county officials and employees is conducted solely on county devices to ensure information is obtainable by the public.  Ensuring all official communication between county employees and county officials is easily obtainable by the public is a critical tool to ensuring those selected to serve do so in a respectful and selfless fashion.

We must restore local school districts' ability to implement policy on what is best for the families they serve. Our teachers, like many essential professions, have been neglected and asked to do more and more while not providing them the support they deserve. Our schools throughout the county have been affected by not only the pandemic, but an explosive enrollment growth rate with many schools lacking the infrastructure and workforce to support such growth. To protect our children’s future we must ensure the teachers and school districts have the infrastructure necessary to provide for our future.

As County Judge I’m committed to setting the right example by respecting everyone even when we disagree. This respect for others and governing with a philosophy of proactive transparency will help restore peoples confidence in governments to include our local school districts.
Commitment to accountability and transparency and a desire to serve selflessly are key principles any elected leader must have.
Integrity and a commitment to serve people selflessly by always putting my own to the Constitution an obligation to serve People first
The ability to work collectively with appointed and elected officials throughout the region in order to deliver services to include infrastructure, public health, public safety, and justice as mandated by the state of Texas. Core responsibilities of the county judge include overall operational strategy and responding to Emergency situations to include natural disasters, infrastructure failures, and matters of public health.
County Judge is the most powerful elected positions most people have never heard of. The County Judge is overall In charge of delivering services to include Justice, Public Health, Public Safety, & Infrastructure to the people of the county.

In Collin County the County Commissioners Court Judge is the rope elected official representing more than 1 million people.

Managerial, Operational Planning, and Emergency Management are the most critical skills any County Judge must have to serve effectively.
