I grew up in Webberville and watched my single Mom work hard to provide for me and my sister. Mom set the example, instilling in us a strong work ethic, teaching the importance of integrity, supporting the community, and learning to budget every dollar.

I worked hard all through school, as I set goals and accomplished them. After graduating from Webberville High School and attending Lansing Community College, I began working for Webberville Community schools as their Technology Director. While working for the school district I was asked to help businesses after hours with their technology issues, and doing so my IT company was born.

I believe in hard work, dedication, and helping my community. I formed my first company while in high school and started my IT firm in 2003. Today ZSolutions employs some amazing and talented people that give excellent service to clients all over Michigan.

In 2011 I joined the Webberville Downtown Development Authority and just 2 months later was asked to become Chair. With the help of my fellow DDA members we went to work solving the financial struggles of the DDA. In just a short time we were able make changes to save money while also promoting low cost solutions positively impacting the community and promoting downtown Webberville.

During my life I have lived in Webberville, Haslett, Dansville and Williamston and have close friends and connections to every part of the 73rd House District.
  • The 73rd district was my community growing up, is now my community, and I'd be honored to represent the district at the State Capital. I understand the complexity of our communities and want to represent all the district and always be that positive force for the 73rd. I will work hard every day, serve with integrity, and always listen to the voters.
  • I have enjoyed running my businesses for over 20 years, but I have always seen a need for someone to become state rep for the communities in the 73rd district that is there for the people, without agendas, without trying to advance their political career. I want to be that positive voice that represents all residents in the district. I believe in giving back to my communities, and I truly believe this calling is the best way I can do that. Creating a positive voice for the 73rd, and being the voice for all at the capitol.
  • I grew up in the district, and I truly believe in listening more than talking. I believe we need to work together to get hard issues fixed. I believe we need to focus on education, infrastructure, and public safety. When people talk affordability, they rarely talk about how much taxes play a pivotal part of that equation. I want you to keep as much of your hard earned money as possible. The government needs to be able to provide great services while also doing it effectively with your tax dollars, and being fiscally responsible with your hard earned money. I want to approach problems with a common sense approach, while also making sure we are respecting every dollar that is spent. With your vote I want to show what representative can do.
I believe the government should effectively and efficiently provide education, infrastructure, and public safety. Every municipality in the state is struggling to replace, maintain, and repair their aging infrastructure. We need to work together to find the solutions to these challenges, and make sure the tax dollars are being used effectively. Education is important to me, I was taught by some of the greatest teachers, and we need to ensure students have the best education, and as well as the education dollars are working best for the parents, teachers and most of all the students. We need to support our first responders and give them the tools they need to help, as well as do their jobs effectively and keep them safe as well.
I look up to my mom. A single mother, that worked her butt off to provide for my sister and myself. She was the toughest person I have ever met. She didn't always give us what we wanted, but she always made sure we had what we needed. She worked hard to make sure we had a roof over our heads, that we had food, and that we had the opportunities we needed to excel in life. She accomplished this with both of us, and we work hard in her honor. Watching her fight cancer for 2 years, always making sure others smiled, and stayed positive even when she was struggling. This showed me the very greatest aspect of my mom, that she taught us, which is always stay positive, and always take care of others before yourself. Her recent passing has made me even more dedicated to honor and continue that aspect in her honor.
You must be truthful and listen to all the people that you represent. Not just the ones that got you elected, but also the ones that may not have. It's important you represent everyone, and ensure their voices are heard. Working with both sides to accomplish things., and keep your integrity and your promises you need to keep.
I believe your word is your bond, and that your most important skill as a politician should be your ability to listen. Being raised by a single mother, and a business owner for over 20 years, I understand that being fiscally responsible is important, and making sure you are using the money you have wisely. I think we can have a respect for each other, debate when necessary, and find common sense approaches, and that's what I have done my whole life.
They need to listen to their constituents, and put their priorities first. Its not about your personal agenda, or extending your political career, but doing what's best for the people you represent. I also believe you have to realize that every dollar you spend represents someone's hard earned money, and be responsible and continue to remind yourself that. Too many don't remember that the government doesn't have money, that its taxpayers money they are spending, and you have to be accountable for that fact.
I want people in my communities to know their voices were heard. I want others to feel properly represented, and I was able to not just kick the can, but actually solve their problems and take action.
My Birthday is September 11th, so 9/11/01 wasn't just another birthday, but a historic event that changed our whole country in an instance. It was one of my first days at just 19 years old, as the Technology Director at my local school district. Seeing the 2nd plan hit the towers, is engrained in my memory forever, and was a day that changed my whole life. We lost so many amazing people that day, and the first responders that risked everything to save people, was the first time in my life I truly saw the bravery that these people have. Seeing our country for once in my lifetime come together, with a common goal, work together to go after those responsible, and put politics aside to make sure the American people were united, and still strong, as we all grieved the massive losses. It was a moment in history I will never forget.
My first job was working on Farms in my community. I baled hay and straw in some of the hottest hay lofts. I cleaned out stalls for horses and cows. I picked strawberries at a local berry farm as well. I also delivered newspapers at a young age while also working at farms. I did these jobs for a few years.
I believe debating is important, but they should actively work together no matter what party is in power, to find solutions to the problems that the citizens face. Find common ground, and find bipartisan support on matters that can happen, and that solves real problems faced by citizens.
As a small business owner for over 20 years, I don't think prior political experience in politics honestly makes a huge difference. I think life experience is by far our greatest teacher, and helps mold our policies, beliefs, and opinions. I think there is a disconnect a lot of times that happens when a politician serves too long, that creates a mentality that disconnects them with the people they are suppose to serve. I believe in being an active part of the communities you serve. Don't get me wrong, running for office is definitely a teachable experience, but I think if you are running to truly represent your communities and the people you will serve, I think you need to have that heart in it, and think you will do a great job and be the best representative of your district.
I believe you have to have a great working relationship with all legislators. No matter what side of the fence your on, you have to be willing to work with everyone to solve problems. Compromise seems to be a "Bad" word these days, but I believe with the right representative you can work together at finding common ground and common sense approaches to issues that solutions need to be found.

Agricultural, Infrastructure, and Education. I would be interested in joining as many committees as possible that would help me provide a positive voice for my district and the state.
I believe both the State and Federal government needs to be extremely transparent, and again realize its not the governments money, but someone that worked hard for that dollar that was taken from them, and that its important to treat it like you would treat your own money, and be responsible, and transparent with it. You want to ensure every dollar that is spent is accounted for, and being used in the best way possible.
