Josiah Alexander Van Orsdel (1860-1937) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

He received a recess appointment from President Theodore Roosevelt on November 14, 1907 to fill a seat vacated by Louis Emory McComas. On December 3, 1907, he was nominated. He was confirmed by the Senate on December 12th, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on August 7, 1937.[1]
