Elections
2014
Stone filed for election to the 15th District Court in 2014, but was removed from the ballot.[1]
Contest of candidacy
J. Jeffrey Payton filed a contest of candidacy against Stone. His petition stated four reasons that Stone should be disqualified. He claimed that Stone did not have the required four years of experience as a licensed attorney or judge, was not a qualified elector of the 15th Judicial District, and that he didn't use his full, legal name when declaring his candidacy. Stone has also been convicted for filing a false claim for victim compensation, and has had other incidents with the law. There was a hearing for the petition on April 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the Capitol, where it was determined that Stone be removed from the ballot.[2][3]
