What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Community Engagement - I want to build bridges amongst our cultures to create effective relationships moving forward. The time has come to stop operating in silos and come together and demonstrate the strength of community. Our strength lies in building that future, inclusive of all of the cultural input that is at our disposal. The breath of those experiences is the foundation of Antioch! Economic Development -We need access once again to retail in our backyard, and business is starting to boom in the Southeast. However, growth does NOT mean destruction! As your representative, I want to maintain the small businesses that are here now, the ones that are part of the fabric of Antioch, while expanding our variety of stores. Now is the time for us to rebuild, bigger and better than before! Beautification - Let’s make and keep it clean. With community clean up days that focus on trash collection, and general upkeep of our common areas, we are creating a legacy for the future! And sidewalks! Let’s continue bring sidewalks to Antioch to stay safe along our roadways and get some exercise. Keeping our community clean and beautiful draws people to Antioch and it contributes to our overall equity.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Fiscal, Environmental and Foreign
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
I believe that transparency, integrity and accountability are imperative character traits for elected officials.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
While this is my first time running for office, my personal experiences have equipped me to be well rounded and able to interact with and lead people from varied backgrounds. Antioch is the most diverse area in Nashville and growing everyday. We need leadership that has not only lived around diversity, but been a part of other cultures in order to truly understand the best means to build trust and form lasting relationships. My community leadership here in Nashville – from my work with the Salvation Army to chairing the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship's Martin Luther King Day celebration, has demonstrated a clear track record of being able to work with and bring people together from all backgrounds. I bring a much needed fresh perspective and new energy to the table.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
City Council members true priority is to listen to their constituents, represent their needs and provide consistent quality leadership and guidance to the community. Council members must be focused and attentive to the nuances of city government in order to make educated, informed decisions on behalf of their communities. It is also their responsibility to keep their constituents abreast of all government matters that will affect them in a timely and efficient manner.
What legacy would you like to leave?
To be an agent for positive change.

The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
We need greater accountability and integrity in our elected officials. Trust and faith is missing due to failed promises and lack of transparency. I will conduct myself honorably while in office and hope to re-instill confidence in political officers by fighting for the needs of my constituents.[2] |
