The city of Glendale, Arizona, held elections for mayor and city council on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on August 30, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 1, 2016.[1] Three of the six city council seats were up for election. Joyce Clark defeated incumbent Samuel Chavira in the Glendale City Council, Yucca District primary election.[2]
