Juan A. Magallanes is a judge for the 357th District Court in Texas. He was elected in 2014 for a term beginning in 2015. His term expires in 2018.[1] 

Education

Magallanes received a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977, and a J.D. from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1980.[2]

Career

Before his judicial election, Magallanes owned a private law practice called the Law Office of JA Magallanes.[3]

Magallanes ran for election to the 357th District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 50.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Gloria M. Rincones.
General: He defeated Oscar Xavier Garcia in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 52.7 percent of the vote. [1][5][6]
