Juan Sanchez is a federal judge on United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He joined the court in 2004 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.[1]

Sanchez served as chief judge of the district court from 2018 to 2024.[1]

Early life and education

Born in Puerto Rico, Sanchez graduated from the City College of the City University of New York with his bachelor's degree in 1978 and later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School with his J.D. degree in 1981.[1]

Eastern District of Pennsylvania

On the recommendation of U.S. Senators Rick Santorum and Arlen Specter, Sanchez was nominated by President George W. Bush on November 25, 2003, to a seat vacated by Judge Jay Waldman. Sanchez was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 23, 2004, on a unopposed vote and received commission on June 24, 2004.[1][2]
