Stolen campaign sign charges (2024-2025)
On August 11, 2024, Hoff and his wife, Wendy, were arrested in relation to an investigation undertaken by authorities in Alexandria, Minnesota, following a series of stolen campaign signs. On August 15, 2024, authorities conducted a search of Hoff's home, where 242 signs were located. Hoff's wife, Wendy, was charged with one count of felony theft, while Hoff was charged with one count of receiving stolen property and one count of aiding and abetting theft.[1]
On August 11, 2024, the Douglas County Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party rescinded its endorsement of Hoff in his race for Minnesota House of Representatives District 12B.[2]
On March 11, 2025, the charges against Wendy Hoff were dismissed in Douglas County District Court based on prosecutorial discretion. The case was referred to the city attorney's office for further consideration. As of March 26, 2025, the charges against Judd Hoff had not been dismissed.[3]
