Judge Clark to be Chief Justice

Nashville, Tennessee: On September 1, 2010, Cornelia Clark will be sworn in as the chief justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court. She is the second woman to ever hold the position. Regarding the appointment, she said that she was looking forward to “working with the court as we continue our efforts to improve access to justice and strengthen the public’s confidence in the judiciary." She will serve a two-year term.
Justice Clark has served on the Supreme Court since September of 2005. She previously worked as the director of the Administrative Office of the Courts and has served as a 21st Circuit Court judge.[1]
