Iowa: Associate Judge Richard R. Gleason retired from the First District Court of Iowa this month, following the approval of his disability retirement request by the state Supreme Court. Gleason had served on the District Court for almost 20 years and his specific reasons for leaving are largely unknown at this time. District Judge Monica Ackley, head of the magistrate nominating commission, said that she has been told the position needs to be filled "as soon as practicable". The commission will begin to interview applicants to fill the position.[1][2]
