The Judicial Update

March 28, 2012

Florida: Judge Woodrow W. Hatcher, of the Jackson County Court, announced his retirement this month, effective Jan. 6, 2013. At 35 years on the bench, he is one of the longest serving judges in the state. He was elected to the county court in 1976. Circuit Judge Beth Bloom, who previously served on the Miami-Dade County Court, praised her colleague, Judge Hatcher. "His legacy is as someone who has taken the time to help not only the judicial system of Florida, but also as someone who with his own personal ways has helped the other judges become better people because they know Woody," she said.[1]
