Texas: Charles Holcomb, a 77-year-old judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, will retire on December 31, 2010 due to his age. The amiable judge, who has been described by his peers as the court's conscience, stated, "I could keep going...It's interesting work, I enjoy the challenges, and I don't have a lawn to mow." He first became a judge in 1967, serving on the Orange County Court at Law. He was elected to the Court of Criminal Appeals in 2000.[1]
