Judge Kopf to retire from the U.S. District Court next year

Nebraska: Judge Richard Kopf, of the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska, has announced his plan to retire from the court on December 1, 2011. He has judged for this court for 23 years and will continue to served as a senior judge when he retires. Chief District Judge Joseph Bataillon noted some of his co-worker's accomplishments in a recent news release, saying, "He has been instrumental in advancing the use of technology in the federal judiciary and has been a pioneer in the development of innovative programs such as digital court recording, which has made court records more accessible to the public." President Barack Obama will name Kopf's successor.[1]
