July 7, 2012
MEXICO, Missouri: On June 4, 2012, Judge Keith Sutherland recused himself from the felony case involving Attorney James Clampitt. In his place the Missouri Supreme Court has appointed Judge Gary E. Ravens to preside over the case. A graduate from the University of Missouri, Judge Ravens has been serving the 9th Judicial Circuit for over 16 years.[1]
Attorney Clampitt faces two counts of felony stealing and one count of fraudulent use of a credit/debit device. The allegations claim Clampitt used a credit card from his former law firm, Brett, Erdel and Owings, to start up his new firm, Clampitt Law Firm, P.C.[1]
