Monticello, Illinois: Judge John P. Shonkwiler, of the 6th Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois, has announced that he will retire on July 31, 2012. The 79-year-old judge was first elected a Resident Circuit Judge in 1974. He has served as the chief judge of the 6th Circuit since 1994.
