Batavia, Ohio: Judge Michael J. Voris of the Clermont County Domestic Relations Division is retiring from the bench on December 31, 2010 due to age limits for judges in Ohio. He is 72 years old and has served as Clermont County's only domestic relations judge since 1986. He dealt with divorce, child custody or domestic violence cases. "It's sort of a bitter-sweet thing as far as hearing those cases...I feel good about what I've accomplished, (but) there were some very difficult ones that were heart-wrenching," Judge Voris explained. Kathleen M. Rodenberg was elected in November to replace him.

Prior to his judicial career, Voris worked as a lawyer from 1968 to 1986 and a part-time County Court judge (predecessor of the Municipal Court) from 1983 to 1986. Following retirement, he hopes to serve as a substitute, or "visiting" judge occasionally.[1]
