Texas: Judge Jeff Walker is retiring from the Texas District 96 after 23 years of service. He was first appointed to this position by Gov. Clements in 1987 and his retirement is effective on September 13, 2010. The 69-year-old judge has also served as the presiding judge for the Eighth Administrative Judicial Region for most of this time and plans to continue in this position. He was the first Republican civil court judge in Tarrant County. Prior to joining the court, Walker ran his own law practice for 18 years in Arlington, TX. Governor Perry will appoint his replacement.[1]
