RICHMOND, Virginia: On Tuesday August 30, Judge Henry Hudson dismissed constitutional claims against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Transportation Security Administration Director John Pistole, the Capital Region Airport Commission and three airport police officers.[1]
The claims were made by a 21-year-old Charlottesville man who protested airport security procedures by taking off all but his shorts. Following his disrobing, he was detained by TSA officers.[1]
The 21-year-old says he was protesting security procedures that violate the 4th Amendment's protections against unreasonable search and seizure.
The sections of the lawsuit not dismissed include false imprisonment and malicious prosecution claims against the TSA officers.[1][2]
