Judith Colenback Savage
Judith Colenback Savage was an associate justice on the Superior Court of Rhode Island. She was appointed to the bench in 1993 by Governor Bruce Sundlun.[1][2] Savage retired from the bench at the end of August 2013.[3]
Education
Savage earned an undergraduate diploma from Wellesley College in 1979. She was awarded a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1982.[2]
Career
Savage was appointed to the bench in 1993 and retired at the end of August 2013. Prior to her appointment to the bench, she was in private practice at the law firm of Edwards & Angell in Providence. After graduation from law school, Savage served as executive counsel to former Governor Bruce Sundlun.[2]
Supreme Court bid
Savage applied to fill an open seat on the Rhode Island Supreme Court in 2009. She and four other candidates were interviewed by the Rhode Island Judicial Nominating Commission on November 10, 2009.[2] However, Gilbert V. Indeglia was ultimately appointed to the Supreme Court seat.[3]
