Judith J. Gische was a judge of the New York Supreme Court 1st Judicial District. She left office in 2022.

Education

Gische received her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1977 and her J.D. degree from that same institution's School of Law in 1980.[1]

Career

Gischer began her career in 1980 as a judicial clerk for the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, 3rd Dept. From 1982 to 1990, she worked as a senior attorney for the New York City law firm of Richenthal, Abrams & Moss.

Gischer was appointed a Housing Court Judge for the New York City Civil Court in 1990. She then became a judge of the Civil Court in 1994. She held this position through 2008 and was an acting justice of the Supreme Court from 2004 to 2008. She was then elected a Justice of the Supreme Court in 2009.[1]
