Judith J. Phillips is an associate justice of the Franklin/Hampshire Juvenile Court in Massachusetts. She was nominated to the court by former Governor Deval Patrick on April 19, 2011, and was confirmed by the Governor's Council on May 11, 2011. She succeeded retired Judge Lillian Miranda.[1][2] Phillips also serves on the Hampden County Juvenile Court.[3][4] She may serve on the court until she turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[5]

Education

Phillips received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1985 and her J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1990.[1]

Career

Phillips previously served as an assistant attorney general, as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights, and as an assistant regional counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Social Services. Prior to her judicial nomination in 2011, she was a solo practitioner in Springfield, Massachusetts.[1]
