Johnson ran for election to the 262nd District Court.
Primary: He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 44.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Denise Bradley.

Education
Johnson received his undergraduate degree from Texas Southern University and his J.D. from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.[4]
Career
At the time of his candidacy, Johnson worked as a felony trial attorney in the Harris County Public Defender's office. He has also previously worked in private practice at his own firm and for the Brazoria County District Attorney's office.[4]
