Julia is a lifelong resident of Nebraska's Legislative District 9. She graduated from Central High School before getting her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha and her law degree from Creighton University School of Law. She previously served as Dean of Admissions at Creighton University School of Law and is currently Managing Partner and Practicing Attorney at Kellogg & Palzer, P.C. L.L.O. Julia and her husband, Jeff, live in Midtown with their children, Augustine, Luciana, and Donato.
  • Build and maintain strong neighborhoods.
  • Lower the cost of living in Midtown Omaha.
  • Lower the tax burden and support small businesses .
As a parent and a small business owner, it is especially important to me that Nebraska has a business friendly legislature. We need to support parents and small business owners to keep Nebraska growing.
I value the principles of consistency, a strong work ethic, authenticity, reliability, and honesty. I try to embody these values in everything that I do.
As an estate planning attorney, I have represented clients for many years. Similarly, I would represent constituents of District 9 in the Nebraska Legislature. I seek to be a consistent, strong and trustworthy advocate for others. And, I am willing to roll up my sleeves and put in the hard work needed to get things done.
The core responsibilities of a state senator include listening to and dialoguing with constituents, and building relationships with other legislators and elected officials to produce the best possible outcomes for our state and its residents. Additionally, it is important to be present, work and vote on legislative bills.
When I was in Junior High, Nebraska elected its first woman governor. As an 8th grader, our class took a field trip to Lincoln, NE, to visit a museum where we saw memorabilia from her inauguration. That experience was very inspiring.
During Junior High and High School, I worked in child care and as a dance instructor. Following that and as an older teen, I worked retail at Younkers at the Crossroads Mall. These experiences taught me how to work and communicate with different types of people.
The ideal relationship is one that is open for dialogue and close-working to achieve the best possible outcomes for the state and its residents.
I think it is more important that our legislators have experience working directly with small business and different types of organizations.
Yes, it is critical to build relationships with other legislators so they can work together to best support the people of Nebraska.
In the last year, I have knocked on thousands of doors and met many residents of Legislative District 9. A few common themes include retired people feeling taxed out of their home, families concerned about safety and wanting their children to receive the best possible education, and the ability to pay for basic needs and affordable housing with the recent hikes in inflation.
Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine
Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson
Omaha City Councilwoman Aimee Melton
Former Nebraska Governor Kay Orr

Former Omaha Mayor Hal Daub
Given my experience and education as an attorney, I am interested in serving on the Judiciary Committee. As a parent, I would also like to serve on the Education Committee. With the largest providers of health care (Nebraska Medicine), long term care (Douglas County Health Center) and veterans care (VA Medical Center) in the state, I would also pursue a seat on the Health & Human Services Committee.
Financial transparency and government accountability are critical to the functioning of democracy because the government works for the people and tax revenue belongs to the people.
