Julia Rodriguez (New York)
Julia I. Rodriguez is a judge of the Bronx County Supreme Court (12th Judicial District) in New York.[1] She was elected in 2013, effective the following January, for a term that expires in 2027.[2]
Education
Rodriguez received her J.D. degree from the Fordham University School of Law.[1]
Career
Rodriguez began her career in 1994 as a court attorney for the civil court. In 1996, she became a principal law clerk for the supreme court. She was then appointed to the Housing Court of the New York City Civil Court, Bronx County in 1999. She became a civil court judge in 2004, and was elected to the supreme court in 2013.[1][3]
Elections
2013
Rodriguez ran for election to the Supreme Court 12th Judicial District. General: She was elected in the general election on November 5, 2013, with 21.6 percent of the vote. Laura G. Douglas, Kevin P. Kuehner, Norma Ruiz, Larry S. Schachner, Robert D. Siano and John H. Wilson were also on the ballot, competing for three open seats.[4][5][2]
