Julian Alvarez

Biography
Alvarez was a state trooper for the Texas Drug Task Force within the Department of Public Safety. He then became the director of college information at Texas State Technical College before serving as the regional director of Texas for the U.S. Senate. Prior to his appointment to the Texas Workforce Commission, he worked as the CEO of Rio Grande Valley Partnership, a chamber of commerce organization.
Alvarez has served as a member of numerous boards, including Teach for America, Border Trade Alliance, I-69 Alliance, RGV Lead, Texas State Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, and UT Pan American President's Circle.[1]
