I am a demonstrated leader who served as Director of Research for an International non-profit. I am a skilled researcher with advanced University degrees. In the County Commissioner's office, I researched policy needed to implement programs for Bernalillo County. I worked for Albuquerque community schools. As a small business owner and mother of 3, I am aware of the challenges that our families face. I am uniquely qualified to use my leadership and research skills to address those challenges through sound policy and constituent support. I'm endorsed by Albuqerque Teacher's Federation, Albuquerque Federation of Classified Professionals, United Academics (UNM), Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club, AFSCME - American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, NEA - National Education Association - NM, Mom's Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate, and New Mexico Federation of Labor AFL-CIO (NMFL). I have also taken "The No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge."
  • As a small business owner, I know how important it is to rebuild the NM economy. I support tax breaks, low-interest loans and stimulus packages that go directly to businesses in need. Continued dependence on oil has proven fatal to the state. I strongly support diversifying the economy by endorsing new, small, and local businesses; growing tech firms; hemp production; film industry expansion; and renewable energy.
  • In my work at Albuquerque Community Schools, I learned what can be done to improve our education. First, I will address financially and academically struggling schools via increased funding for Community Schools. Second, our educators must be supported and have salary increases. Third, we must significantly increase high school graduation rates through mentoring, college and employment preparation and student's vocational and college-credit programing.
  • As a policy researcher, my published research focuses on the peace and security of societies. First, we must work on enforcement by increasing the capacity of the courts, ending the revolving door of criminals, and hire more police trained in community policing. Second, we must work on intervention by tacking poverty, income inequality, drug use and gun use. Third, we must work on prevention by getting at the root causes of insecurity. This is done by eradicating violence against women and empowering families.
My vision of a safe, prosperous, vibrant New Mexico includes the voices of the people of District 31. I believes in transparent and committed public service. I will hold regular town halls, respond to all constituent concerns, and sponsor community policy committees. I will open the House of Representatives to the people to ensure that your voices are heard.

I believe in evidence-based policy that will get at the roots to the challenges New Mexico faces. I put people and policy above party and will work with all people who want results. My top priorities are a plan for COVID-19, public safety, education and building New Mexico's economy.

I have chosen to raise my three children in New Mexico as I believe there is much good and potential here. But there is also work to be done. As a researcher, my policies will get to the roots of the problems: supporting, empowering and sustaining families.
By far, the most important characteristic of an elected official is integrity. "Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them" (Dr. Brene Brown). My parents, my experiences, my education, my faith and my service to my community have instilled in my a bedrock of character that is centered on integrity. I say what I do and do what I say. I live an honest, true life and this will be reflected in my service to you in this district.
True leadership serves, listens and responds to constituent concerns. My plan as your elected official is to bring all voices, all ideas, and all innovation to the table to tackle the tough challenges NM faces. District 31 is filled with incredible talent and experience. Once elected, I will host community policy committees and invite all constituents to join and add their voices, ideas and experience to tackling our crime, improving our education and rebuilding our economy.
I am standing in one of the most powerful rooms on earth. I look around and see work being done - loud voices, people moving between rows, papers flying. I look down and see my dark blue blazer my Mom bought me just for this occasion. It takes courage for me stand there - on the House Floor in the United States Capitol - serving elected officials. I learned that one person and even one policy can change a community for good. I made a commitment then and there that I would do all I could to gain the knowledge, experience and passion to return to the House floor to serve my community. I stood as a House Page in Washington DC when I was 16 years old and now I am asking for the votes and support of the good people of New Mexico as I run to stand on the House Floor in Santa Fe. I have prepared well and I am ready to serve.
I love Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. He is a man who forgave, believed in mercy, but also worked hard to build his community. He is a man of integrity, compassion and also justice.
I believe our states greatest challenges, and greatest opportunities, lie in the strengthening of New Mexico families. Crime can begin and also end in families. Academic success, or failure, begins and ends in families. Skills and character for a successful employment in a booming economy are built in families. As we strengthen our families by tackling poverty, eradicating violence in the home, providing behavioral health for addiction and mental health, and ensuring good paying jobs, we will see New Mexico continue to flourish.
