Julie Denton
Julie Denton (b. June 9, 1960) was a Republican member of the Louisville City Council, representing District 19. She was elected to the council on November 4, 2014, and was sworn into office on January 5, 2015. Denton did not file for re-election in 2018.[1]
Previously, she was a Republican member of the Kentucky State Senate, representing District 36 from 1995 to 2015. Denton did not seek re-election in 2014.[2]
Biography
Denton earned her B.S. from the University of Louisville in 1981. Her professional experience includes working as a consumer representative for General Electric and dental hygienist.

The city of Louisville, Kentucky held elections for mayor and city council on November 4, 2014.[3][4] In District 19, Julie Denton (R) ran unopposed.[5] Incumbent Jerry T. Miller did not run for re-election.[6]

Denton defeated Democratic candidate Rick Hiles by a margin of 36,864 to 18,291 in the November 2 general election.[7]
In the May 18 primary election, Denton defeated opponent Shawn Slone by a margin of 10,135 to 4,000.[8]

2006
On November 7, 2006, Denton was re-elected to the 36th District Seat in the Kentucky State Senate with no opposition.[9] Denton raised $181,069 for her campaign.[10]
