Julie Gobble is a young, moderate Democrat working to bring positive change to East Texas. As a 14-year resident of East Texas, Julie knows the values of the area well. During her time in the area, Julie has worked on local and state campaigns for Independents, Republicans, and Democrats, she has been a student, a business manager, and most recently, the Communications Coordinator for the East Texas Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. These experiences have instilled in her the truth that regardless of political affiliation, religion, class, sexual orientation, gender, or physical ability, every Texan deserves to be safe, healthy, and seek success within their community. To achieve this, Julie believes that politics must change.

Divisiveness needs to be met with civility, and wedge issues need to be approached with the core skills of critical thinking and cooperative problem-solving. Politicians need to be reminded that the hard work of public service is a privilege and is not guaranteed by PAC dollars or special interests. And so, Julie decided to run because she has seen her community pay the ultimate price of divisive leadership; East Texas ranks among the highest in uninsured residents, the highest in suicide rates and infant mortality rates, and the lowest in public education funds.

These issues have changed the landscape of our communities and have left thousands of lives devastated in East Texas. We can do better. Join our campaign at julie4texas.com
  • Expand Medicaid and renew access to affordable and effective health care in East Texas.
  • Improve funding for East Texas Public Schools, ensuring our students and teachers know that State leaders have their back.
  • End senseless gun violence through bi-partisan, common sense gun reform.
I am passionate about improving the lives of East Texans. I believe that the areas of public policy most significantly impacting our community is: health care justice, including access to affordable health care and prescription drugs, access to mental health care, and addressing the opioid crisis; prioritizing our public schools by removing the "teach to the test" structure, increasing teacher pay, administrative resources, and improving funds for our retired teachers; ending the gun violence epidemic through common-sense policy reform.
