|As a former Edina School Board member, I know what strong representation and active engagement look like to be impactful in decision-making – listening to constituents' concerns and knowing how to effectively take action to address them. I bring practical experience and knowledge, proven accountability as a trusted leader, and innovative thinking and passion to this important role, and I ask for your support and vote on November 5. It would be an honor to represent the people of Edina and Bloomington at the Capitol advocating for our shared values and priorities for a better Minnesota!
With much appreciation,
Julie- EDUCATION
Each and every child in the state of Minnesota deserves the opportunity to thrive by receiving a high-quality public education.
Fully-funding our public school systems for educational success and support resources for students pre-K-12 by eliminating our Special Education and English language learners services cross-subsidies;
Increasing and funding additional mental health resources, staff and programs for students and staff statewide to address increasing needs, especially those experiencing mental health crisis;
Expanding preschool options to give our youngest learners the important start they need to succeed;
Prioritizing student-centered learning by honoring local decision making for elected school boards. - PUBLIC SAFETY + SECURITY A comprehensive approach that identifies and supports multiple pillars for ensuring safety and securing in our homes and communities - which is essential to our well-being. Effective actions to stop senseless gun violence in our communities like safe storage requirements and the reporting of stolen and lost firearms; Ensuring our first responders are well-resourced and supported including wellness programs that address PTSD & related issues, increasing access to disability when needed, and providing PTO for work-related trauma; Funding to support alternative response team programs within our cities’ response teams.
- EQUAL RIGHTS Every individual has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law without discrimination of any kind. It is imperative our laws reflect this basic protection for our families, friends and neighbors, and that includes advocacy for individuals with disabilities so equal opportunity is truly rooted in accessibility. Support passing the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to our state Constitution; Ensure policies are person-centered, and support funding to research, evaluate and address existing American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant-deficiencies; Support for LGBTQ+ people in all aspects of their lives.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
