LaFleur received a bachelor's degree in industrial technology/management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.[2]

LaFleur is a family law attorney. She has done pro bono work through her private practice, with the Ramsey County Pro Se Clinic, Washington County Pro Se Clinic, Project Homeless Connect, Tubman's Chrysalis Center, and others.[2]
