Julie Menghini
Julie Menghini is a former Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 3 from 2013 to 2015. She previously served from 2005 to 2011. Menghini is a former Minority Whip.

Elections
2014
Elections for the Kansas House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Incumbent Julie Menghini was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Chuck Smith was unopposed in the Republican primary. Menghini was defeated by Smith in the general election.[2][3]

2012
Menghini won election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 3. Menghini ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Michelle Hucke (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5]

2010
Menghini lost her bid for re-election to the 3rd District seat against Terry Calloway (R). Menghini had no opposition in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[6]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Menghini was re-elected to the 3rd District Seat in the Kansas House of Representatives, defeating Thomas A. Price (R).[7] Menghini raised $39,819 for her campaign, while Price raised $2,345.[8]

The Kansas Policy Institute, Kansas’s "first free market think tank," releases its legislator scorecard as a part of its Kansas Freedom Index for Kansas state representatives and senators once a year. The Score Card gives each legislator a score from 1%-100% based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Kansas Policy Institute thought were pro-limited government policies.[9]

Menghini and her husband, Henry, have three children. She has served as a board member of Elm Acres Youth and Family Services, and a member of the PTO, Business Education Alliance committee for the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and USD 250. She has also served on the board of directors for the Alliance for Technology Commercialization.[11]
