My name is Julie Perry, and I’m running for the Virginia House of Delegates to represent the amazing district that I have been lucky enough to call home for the past several years.

My father served in the United States Air Force, so growing up we moved around quite a bit—I learned the value of finding a place you could call home, and I found that here in Herndon with my husband, Mike.

Teaching is my lifelong passion. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland, and my Masters Degree in Education from West Virginia University. I get to live in my dream job every day, teaching 9th grade world history and 11th grade U.S. History at Centreville High School in Fairfax County.

  • Re-opening our schools and fighting to improve education.

  • Restoring faith and public trust in our elections.
  • Promoting fiscal accountability and responsible spending in government.
My passion is in education. Finding ways to more effectively reach students and ensure they are prepared to step into the workforce or go to a top tier university should be our highest priority. Additionally, we need to ensure every dollar spent on education is spent efficiently, thoughtfully, and with the greatest impact for each of our students.
My goal is to make the greatest positive impact possible on as many folks as I can. Each day I start with the thought: "What will I do to be a positive force in my community today?" Serving my community in the House of Delegates is the best possible way I can think of to help as many people as I can.
