Julie Schumacher
Julie Schumacher is a judge of the Iowa Court of Appeals. She assumed office in 2019. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Schumacher ran for re-election for judge of the Iowa Court of Appeals. She won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.
Schumacher was appointed to the court by Governor Kim Reynolds (R) in August 2019 to replace Judge Gayle Vogel, who retired.[1]
Schumacher was a judge of the Third District of Iowa. She was appointed to this position in January 2017 to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Mary Sokolovske.[2]
Schumacher was an associate juvenile judge with the Third District court from 2012 to 2017.[3]
Education
Schumacher received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota and her J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law.[1]

Schumacher was an attorney with the Crawford County Attorney's Office from 2008 to 2012.[3]
