I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio by Joanne and Eric Trabold, with sisters Marie, Lisa and Amy, and taught that everyone deserves to be loved and respected. I was raised with values of hard work, service, integrity and justice.

When I was ten I received a scholarship to attend an international boarding school in Rhode Island. This opened my eyes to a whole new world, and appreciating all the people in it. I attended St. Francis DeSales High school. During these years I was a camp counselor at Recreation Unlimited for people with disabilities, I won first place in the state science fair - with a climate change project called ‘Cubic Weather’, and attended Buckeye Girls’ State.

I began my university studies in chemical engineering at The Ohio State University at the top of my class. When I became a mom, I didn’t have the support I needed to stay in that field. With the help of my family, I went into an accelerated nursing program so that I could provide for my children. As a single parent for the past fifteen years, I have, myself, lived in poverty. I understand on a personal level, the struggles most people face.

In nursing I focused on serving seniors and hospice patients. In finance I conducted investment research and strategies where my passion for economic sustainability grew. I have also worked as a director of community relations, business development and operations.

Throughout my life, serving and advocating for the most vulnerable have been my passion.
  • We are facing an economic crisis caused by corporate financial bullying and corruption within the branches of our government. Inflation reform needed addressed three years faster and it barely touches the tip of the iceberg. We do not have time for a distracted representative that juggles a law firm on the side.

We must stop financial bullying in its tracks with legislation that protects our people and holds corporations and government branches accountable.

My first priority is activating our economy and elevating and empowering lower income individuals to break free from economic slavery, and the struggles, trauma and bondages of poverty. We have to prioritize poverty reduction in order to grow a sustainable healthy economy.
  • We are facing a housing crisis that is fueling childhood poverty that the government has watched increase with little response. And increasing inequalities of every kind, that are causing Americans to feel hopeless, helpless and angry. People aren’t being supported by the government, are not being given an opportunity to achieve the American Dream, they feel forgotten and it is unacceptable. I will fight for all Ohioans to have access to housing that is safe and affordable, regardless of income. Housing is a human right, not a privilege. To have millions of Ohioans on the edge of homelessness is a crisis. We do not have the shelters or resources to be prepared to address that magnitude of need. This crisis is nationwide.
  • I believe in and will fight for educating our citizens from baby to bachelor's degree. With top, equal, free education no matter the zip code. That includes free universal childcare for parents. Ohio is currently 38th in median income for our country. This would help to raise not only our income but our overall standing nationally, as well as educating and preparing the minds of our young citizens to optimize life long learning. Educating our citizens yields a strong, stable and sustainable economy. It adds layers to safe neighborhoods and national security. It empowers our people. It increases societal moral, boosts positive culture, confidence, healthy relationships, and mental health. It eliminates poverty. It empowers the people.
Economic growth and sustainability, affordable housing, empowering and educating our citizens with public education access from baby to bachelor’s degree, free universal childcare, supporting families, foster care system reform, justice reform, equality and protection for all of the people, civil rights, women’s rights, environmental responsibility and justice, workers and union rights, senior and veteran care, eliminating child homelessness, poverty and gun violence.
I look up to my grandma, Eileen Leuser. She was a pioneer and advocate for women, justice and education. She had three masters degrees and was a public school principal in inner city Cleveland during the HIV/AIDS crisis. Against all pushback from the families and communities she served, she stood up for justice, righteousness and science, and led her school to become the first school in the city to allow a student with HIV to attend. Something she always told me was,

"Knowledge is power. No one can ever take that away from you."

She believed in building people up and empowering them. One of her life mottos was to live by 'Faith, Family and Fitness'.
Being a servant leader with humility, empathy, integrity and selflessness.

Setting a precedent to elevate and empower the people and their voices.

Being able to time manage and triage the most critical problems that need addressed first second and third or simultaneously with creative diversified solutions and limited resources, keeping in mind how each change effects other systems and generations.
An orphanage and multigenerational community housing for elderly, single mothers and young children.
Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive

by Stephanie Land

This is my favorite book because she gives voice to many whose voices have been silenced, while helping others understand how hard life really is for single mothers and those in poverty.
Not necessarily. It is more beneficial to be able to know and relate to the people in the community who are suffering the most, that is the key to understanding their needs and those of society at large. Those closest to the problems are closest to the solutions.
