Julius Johnson (Tennessee)
Julius Johnson was the 36th and current Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture. He was first appointed in January 2011 by Governor Bill Haslam.[1] On March 21, 2016, Johnson announced his resignation from office effective May 1.[2]
Biography
Prior to his appointment, Johnson served as Chief Administrative Officer of the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation. In that capacity, he directed the federation's legislative affairs. Johnson served in the TFBF for over 37 years before being appointed commissioner. [1][3]

If Tennessee is to become the number one location in the Southeast for jobs, its largest industry – agriculture – must play a part in that, and Julius knows where the advantages are in rural Tennessee.”[4]
