What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Affordable Living: Invest in Critical Community Positions and Infrastructure: Effective Representation: Being an Advocate and Public Servant Education: Invest in the Whole Child and Schools

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

As a father of three young adults who attended Arlington Public Schools, I think every day about their future and that of our next generation. We must have leaders who are vigilent, focused, and have empathy for others who have suffered a loss due to gun violence. I have been at the grassroots level diligently working on these type of issues as a leader with the NAACP. We've had 8 years for action and in dire need of a proven COMMUNITY LEADER. Shared experiences and unique perspectives are needed in the General Assembly. Career politicians aren't paving the way, too many excuses and failed promises. I want to work hand-in-hand with Moms Demand Action to make a positive difference. Together with progressive, inclusive, and transparent leadership, we can accomplish many things.

What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?

I enjoy cooking on the grill for my wife and children on the weekends. We get to spend quality time together and have fun.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

Siempre En Mi Miente by Juan Gabriel

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

In accordance with the Constitution, having experience in politics and/or government is not a prerequisite to hold public office. I believe we need more community leaders, young adults, and those not indoctrinated solely in politics and elected office.

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

The greatest challenge over the next decade is to ensure we take care of everyone and leave no one behind. We must also fight to address climate change and sustainable energy.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?

The Governor's role is to be an inclusive leader and serve with the highest of character and integrity among State Senators and Delegates.

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

No single legislator can accomplish anything by themselves. Understanding how to compromise for the greater good is fundamental.
