HIGHLIGHTS

Five statewide propositions were on the ballot in California on June 5, including Proposition 68, a $4 billion bond project for state and local parks, environmental protection projects, water infrastructure projects, and flood protection.

There were 158 local measures on ballots across 42 counties in California.

Five cities decided on competing measures—pairs of measures that directly contradict one another. In these cases, only one can be approved, though both can also be defeated. The cities were San Francisco, San Jose in Santa Clara County, Jurupa Valley in Riverside County, Martinez in Contra Costa County, and National City in San Diego County.

One measure, Regional Measure 3—a bridge toll increase measure designed to fund transportation and traffic-relief projects—was on the ballot for the following nine counties in the San Francisco Bay Area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
