Justice Hargrave to retire from Oklahoma Supreme Court
September 1, 2010
Oklahoma: Justice Rudolph Hargrave, of the Oklahoma Supreme Court, has announced his plan to retire on December 31, 2010. The 85-year-old judge has served on the Supreme Court since 1978 and is its most senior member.
Hargrave is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He first served as a county judge in Seminole County in 1964. In 1967, he became a Seminole County Superior Court judge and, in 1969, he joined the county District Court (District 22). He held this position until he was appointed to the Supreme Court by Gov. Boren in 1978.
A judicial nominating commission will review nominees to replace Hargrave. They will select three finalists to send to the governor for consideration.[1]
