Justin Alfond
Justin Alfond is a former Democratic member of the Maine State Senate, representing District 27 from 2008 to 2016.
Alfond served as president of the Senate from 2012 to 2014, when Republicans gained control of the Senate; he was then named as minority leader.
Alfond did not seek re-election to the Maine State Senate in 2016.
Biography
Alfond earned his B.B.A. in business administration from Tulane University. His professional experience includes working as a real estate developer.

Elections for the Maine State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 10, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for party candidates wishing to run in this election was March 17, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the primary election was April 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-party candidates to run in the general election was June 2, 2014. District 8 incumbent Justin Alfond was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Peter Doyle was unopposed in the Republican primary. Alfond defeated Doyle and Asher Platts (G) in the general election.[5][6][7][8]

Alfond won re-election in 2012. He was unopposed in the June 12, 2012, Democratic primary and defeated John M. Brown (R) and Asher Platts (G) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[9]

Alfond won re-election to the 8th District seat in the November 2nd general election.[10] He had no primary opposition. Peter Doyle ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.
