Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Kalie lives in Augusta with her husband, Wayne. She has dedicated her career to making Maine a better place. Kalie is a graduate of the University of Maine and the State University of New York at Albany and has a Master's degree in public health. She volunteers with Augusta's bicycle and pedestrian safety group, Augusta Age-Friendly, Viles Arboretum, Spectrum Generations, and is on the board of Community Housing of Maine.

In her professional life, Kalie works to create statewide efforts to improve children's oral health in Maine. She has also worked to help reduce youth substance use, create healthier public spaces, help people get health insurance, improve health center operations, and design transportation systems that work for people.

Kalie is dedicated to making sure people can get and afford the medical care they need, protecting Maine's environment, building strong communities, and addressing Maine's workforce needs.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Kalie is running for Maine Senate because she believes that together we can build a Maine that lifts up everyone. For Kalie, leadership starts with listening - it's about putting people first and working hard to solve the problems that matter to our community. As a public health professional, Kalie is committed to improving the health and well-being of Mainers. This includes supporting policies that build strong communities - like improving walkability in our towns and providing high-quality education - and making sure Mainers can afford and get the health care they need. Kalie cares deeply about supporting small businesses and strengthening Maine's workforce through benefits such as loan repayment and making sure Mainers of all ages can access the education they need to be successful. Finally, Kalie is passionate about the environment. Maine's outdoors is a treasure to all of us, and it is also important for tourism, agriculture, and our health. Kalie will push for sustainable solutions that protect our environment and create good-paying jobs.
