Kalimah Ahmad
Kalimah Ahmad is a judge on the Vicinage 6 Superior Court in New Jersey. She was appointed to the court on December 17, 2020 by the New Jersey Supreme Court.[1] She must be reappointed in 2027 to remain on the bench.
Education
Ahmad earned a bachelor's degree in English and a Teacher Education Certification from Montclair State University, and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.[2]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the Vicinage 6 Superior Court, Ahmad served as Legal Advisor to the Hudson County Correction Facility in New Jersey. She has previously worked as Assistant County Counsel for the County of Hudson. In 2011, she served as a Jersey City Councilwoman-at-Large.[2] She has also worked in private practice as a lawyer, specializing in civil rights, employment, entertainment, and sports law.[3]
