Hi, I am Kara Crowley and I am running for the Hilliard Board of Education! I have been a teacher in Southwestern City Schools for 15 years and I was one of the 2020 Outstanding Educators of the Year in my district. I am a mom to 2 kids in Hilliard city Schools and the wife of a fellow educator. I am a first generation college student and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Education. I am currently working on adding a reading endorsement to my license. I am a world traveler and have been in every time zone in the world. I have a passion for education and love teaching all subjects especially science. I am a lifelong learner and love to attend professional developments to help me learn more about education. I have written model curriculum for ODE and I have taken classes at The Teachers College at Columbia University. I am very active in the community by volunteering at the Hilliard Food Pantry and Patches of Light. I am also very involved in my neighborhood as well as my children's PTO.
  • I will provide a world-class education and educational opportunities to all students within the district so that students graduate with a strong foundation of knowledge, interests, social-emotional skills, future aspirations and global citizenship.
  • I will provide leadership that cultivates a strong relationship between the schools and the community. I will lead with accountability, transparency and common sense and collaborate with all viewpoints with the students as the center of all decision making.
  • I will work to create a culture that celebrates diversity within the school community and developing policy that supports equity and inclusivity across the district.
I am personally passionate about education. I believe in high quality education and educational experiences for all students.
