|I attended college in Montana and got a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education with Recreation emphasis.
My first "real" job was working as a therapist at Alaska Psychiatric Institute and later at Harborview Developmental centers. I met my husband Tom, while working in Valdez and this summer we will have been married 35 years!
Tom and I began a family here in Anchorage. I stayed home when our three children were little, and attended school at night to get my teaching certificate at Alaska Pacific University.
I taught for 20 years in Anchorage, from 6th grade, to middle school and finally elementary health.
After retiring I leaned full into community council and have been on the Scenic Foothills Community council for nearly 10 years, serving as secretary, vice president and president. During my tenure I have advocated for trail connectivity in our area, better relations with JBER, safety on the Tudor/Muldoon curve, fought the bus barn, mega shelter and gerrymandering.
- Anchorage is our home!
- Our neighbors deserve to be safe and healthy.
- Our children our the future. Schools should be well supported.
Our green spaces, access to the mountains and multi-use paths through town, make Anchorage a desirable place to live.
