I have lived in New Hampshire for 22 years, and accepted a role as healthcare provider to the homeless and on the front lines of the opioid epidemic when I saw what was happening here. It is that experience, and the three decades previous to it, as a professional chef, that taught me the art of collaboration and problem solving with little more than Yankee ingenuity and stoicism, that cheerleading won more success than judgement, and that the answer always lies somewhere in the middle. I believe in the notion, "Live free or die." I just believe it should apply to all of our citizens. We need local leaders who understand what the problems are to come together collectively and place people over politics. Because NH needs our collective best if we are to preserve her for ALL.
  • Economic Stability: In order for people to find stability in their lives, they need to have economic stability. Very little can be done when one is questioning how they will make ends meet, on a limited income, with rising inflation, and without any net to catch them if they fail. Small supports within local communites exist now, privately funded, non-profits, main-street groups, all of whom know how to keep the wolves outside the door, and simply need the oxygen to make it so
  • Experience/Educational expansion- part of financial stability lies in having the right experience for the job. Not everyone stays in the career of their original choosing out of high school, and not every high school kid is ready to commit to a career at attend college. We need, as a government, to support those efforts to collaborate with our local communities, their vocational masters, successful entrepeneurs and such, to expand their knowledge and meet the challenges of capitalism on today's terms and technology.
  • Freedom/Constitutional rights and Personal freedoms: there are few things more important than our State Constitution, and the rights it provides us. Right now, I feel things have swung too far to the right, and many are feeling threatened by policies proposed by my opposition with regards to women's and LGBTQIA+ rights, not to mention the disabled who are already vulnerable, and becoming more so out of neglect.
Fiscal responsiblity: I no longer feel that we can trust those in Concord to be responsible with our tax dollars after the fiasco from 2010's ponzi scheme reimbursement to wealthy investors, the 100M in damages going to victims of the Sununu Center who from lack of management and neglect were sexually and physically assaulted, or the incredibly explosive cost of the voucher program, as it went 6000% OVER BUDGET in the first year. The second year, it was supposed to be 3M, but was estimated to be closer to 20.4M. I shudder to imagine how I can afford to retire here, let alone help fund my youngest's and middle child's college tuition, and I'm a PCP.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in New Hampshire

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of New Hampshire scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
