Karen Cole was a judge of the Florida 4th Circuit Court. She left office on October 1, 2021.

Cole won re-election for judge of the Florida 4th Circuit Court outright after the general election on November 6, 2018, was canceled.

Cole was appointed to this position in 1994 to replace Dorothy Pate.[1][2][3] Cole retired from the court on October 1, 2021.[4]

Education

Cole received her undergraduate degree from Jacksonville University in 1978 and her law degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1981.[1]

Career

Cole began her career in 1981 as an associate of the law firm of Bedell, Bedell, Dittmar & Zehmer, P.A. She then joined Boyd & Jenerette, P.A. as an associate in 1983. In 1988, she became a shareholder in that firm and, in 1993, she joined Morgan & Cole, P.A. as a shareholder. She was appointed to the circuit court in 1994.[1][2][5]

The general election was canceled. Karen Cole (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.

Cole was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[6][7]
